ARRG History
ARRG has a unique history in that most of its members originally met on the online forum "TreasureNet". From the forum, we were invited to join a salvage operation already in progress on a 1659 Spanish Galleon near Jupiter Inlet, Fl. Together, we brought up up many Spanish silver coins dating from 1654 to 1659, but more importantly we forged a bond that eventually became ARRG. It quickly became apparent through the work we performed on the Jupiter site that we had the makings of a great exploration company. ARRG was incorporated in the state of Florida in 2007 and we bought our first vessel later that year.
Since that time, we have outfitted our vessels with high-tech search equipment and educated ourselves on the methods for properly excavating underwater archaeological sites, and preserving the artifacts from them. There was much to be done in our first year, and we are most excited to have everything in place to start finding and recovering the shipwrecks that our exhaustive research has turned up.
